19-Year-Old Leylah Fernandez Becomes Youngest Woman to Reach US Open Semifinals

Leylah Fernandez’s dream run at the US Open continues! The 19-year-old Canadian took down #5 Elina Svitolina in a three-set tiebreaker Tuesday night at Flushing Meadows (6-3, 3-6, 7-6). Fernandez was also the one who sent home #3 Naomi Osaka in the third round. After taking down two top-five seeds as an unranked player, Fernandez became the youngest woman to defeat multiple top-five opponents at any major since Serena Williams in 1999. Fernandez also etched her name in history as the youngest woman ever to reach the US Open semifinals. Next up? She’ll face #2 Aryna Sabalenka for a spot in the final.

Astros Stun Mariners With 10th Inning Walk-Off Double From Alex Correa

The Astros struggled to start September, but the AL West leaders are back on track thanks to a little drama Tuesday night in Houston. The ‘Stros trailed the Mariners (4-2) in the bottom of the 9th with one out before Alex Bregman crushed a two-run, game-tying home run to force extra innings. With a runner on second in the 10th, it was Alex Correa with a ground-rule double that walked it off. Now 81-57, the Astros are 6.5 games up on the rest of the AL West.
