Patrick Kane’s Hat Trick Puts Miserable Blackhawks in the Win Column

After an ugly off-the-ice saga involving the Chicago Blackhawks last week, the team finally got its first win of the season on Monday. Patrick Kane tallied a hat trick to give the Blackhawks a 5-1 win over the Senators. Brandon Hagel also added two goals and Jonathan Toews. Meanwhile, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman made headlines yesterday by defending the league’s handling of the sexual assault scandal involving former Blackhawks player Kyle Beach. Chicago is now 1-7-2, leaving the Arizona Coyotes (0-8-1) as the last winless team in the NHL.
