Duke & Michigan Climb in College Basketball’s First AP Poll of Regular Season

The opening week of the NCAA hoops season is in the books, and there’s some movement at the top. After early-season losses, Villanova, Texas and Kentucky slide. Meanwhile, Michigan and Duke surged two spots. Gonzaga and UCLA — last year’s Final Four matchup — retain the top two spots. The Sportsletter will have more consistent nightly coverage of college basketball once the conference season begins.
