A Monday Night Minute

Two Monday night games. Two 30+ blowouts. Two way-too-dumb quarterback comparisons. Recap Monday Night Football in 60 seconds.

Rams Ruin Raiders in Second Half, 33-13

Oakland QB Derek Carr was 20-for-24 with 199 yards in the first half as Jon Gruden's Raiders looked A-OK with a 13-10 halftime lead. Then... not. The Rams outscored Oakland 23-0 in the second half after deciding to feed running back Todd Gurley and control every bit of this game.

L.A. quarterback Jared Goff had 233 yards and 2 TDs while Gurley took 23 total touches for 147 yards and a touchdown. Carr had 303 yards but zero TDs and three picks.

Jets Take Flight on Lions, 48-17

On his first NFL play, Jets' QB Sam Darnold rolled right, threw back left across the field and handed the Lions a pick-six. And that was about the only thing to get excited about in Detroit. After the 7-0 Lions lead just seconds into the game, the Jets outscored Detroit 48-10 over the next 59 minutes -- on the road with the youngest QB ever to start a season opener.

It was the Jets defense that decimated Detroit (Matthew Stafford was intercepted four times) but let the Sam Darnold chatter begin (completed 76 percent of his passes for 198 yards and 2 TDs).

Darnold is the first QB to win his first start by 31+ points since (seriously) Tom Brady.

Another QB who threw an interception on his first NFL pass? (stop) Brett Favre.
