The Rockets Did What?

After a 1-3 start to the season and a hamstring injury that’s sidelined James Harden, the Houston Rockets are going all in. On Thursday, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Rockets offered the Timberwolves four first-round draft picks in exchange for Jimmy Butler.

Seriously. Four number ones?! The deal – if it gets done – would include the most first-round picks a team has ever given up, and it’s the maximum number of first rounders allowed in a trade.

We Have Lift Off
The Wolves have been asking a lot for Butler, and playing hard to get might have worked.

When the Rockets first inquired about Butler, they weren’t willing to part with P.J. Tucker or Eric Gordon – the two pieces Minnesota sought in return. If this new deal goes through, Houston would boast four all-stars in Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, and Butler. That foursome is an average of 32 years old.

Chips on the table. The Rockets just went all in.
